Calibre (stylised calibre) is a cross-platform open-source suite of e-book software. Calibre supports organizing existing e-books into virtual libraries, displaying, editing, creating and converting e-books, as well as syncing e-books with a variety of e-readers. Editing books is supported for EPUB and AZW3 formats. Calibre is a powerful cross-platform, open source, ebook manager and editing platform. Its calibre-server component can be used to publish an e-book library on a local network. While you can launch calibre-server as a desktop application, it can also be run as a daemon on a headless Linux server. It's open source, integrates with GitHub issues, and has an extremely simple and clean approach to the UX. This has made it my go to for kanban with a remote, fast moving, and high caliber team. Oh, and forgot to mention, the drag and drop for those that don't want to dig around the issues on GitHub is a life saver!

Calibre Github Plugin

1. The application cannot be run from within the dmg. You must drag it to a folder on your filesystem (The Desktop, Applications, wherever).
2. In order to show calibre in a different language, open the preferences (by pressing ⌘+P) and select your language.
3. If you are using macOS older than 10.14 (Mojave), the last version of calibre that will work on your machine is 3.48, available here.
4. If you are using macOS 10.8 (Mountain Lion), the last version of calibre that will work on your machine is 2.85.1, available here.
